In a hectic couple months with the Yarkony household and the Driving.ca crew, the Palisade proved its value and quality over 4,000 km
The end of a long-term test is always a bitter pill to swallow. With a busy family life, especially in the winter hockey season, it can take a couple of months just to get comfortable in a vehicle and find all the nooks and crannies and features that help make packing and driving with kids easier.
But to be honest, in the Palisade that adjustment period was virtually eliminated. Hyundai seems to have landed on a pretty magical formula for making something feel fresh and new without being needlessly different. All the controls seem to be the best conventional and ergonomic controls, except perhaps the push-button transmission control, which is so intuitive, that it was barely noticed, and got nothing but praise, even from resident crank David Booth. The easy-to-use infotainment system is an effortless blend of hard controls and a quick responsive touchscreen with logical layout, lightly customizable and horizontally oriented for best compatibility with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a large map display. Everything is just so intuitive that it’s hard to find fault or name a better system in this or any price range.

ugly grille and they could execute the back better
Just bought one taking delivery tomorrow, needed a three row SUV for my single life and carry my two grocery bags 🙂 lOoking forward to having fun with it
Hyundai continually refuses to help on the extensive problems we have had with the 2020 Hyundai Palisade. Just search Palisade Wind noise and toxic smell on google. You should never need to visit the dealer 4 times for the same problem (engine light) before you get to 1400 miles. A lot of problems with this new model. Corporate assign a representative (Paige) that was basically useless. She said up front there is not much they will do. From the start I was nothing more then a problem she needed to get off her books. Just recieved a message from her that basically said sorry about your luck. This company may be good in other parts of the world but here in the US they do not stand by their product.
Just bought it in the same color. 👌
So this is the long term test wrap up…………everything you mention in this is just a repeating review
the exterior design will age very quickly
you get noisy highway ride. How is this acceptable at 50 k. Its not if you do a lots of highway driving.
2 months and 4000km is not long term.
White leather seats with kids playing sports don't work well together.
They should definitely have 2nd row bench seat in top trim.
Thanks for this review. What has been your Gas mileage in city and freeway?
I’d take this over an Audi all day
Nice review John. The Palisade and Telluride are both very strong entries in a very competitive segment.
It took 2 months to come up with those opinions?
In Korea, this comes with an optional 2.2L D that puts out 200hp and 325 lbs/ft. It's nice if you've got a lot of people or stuff cuz the torque is awesome!
Spare tire?
Love this vehicle… where is the spare tire in the extra large space.
Oh. the white seats are so practical.
This a the benchmark and standard of the segnent. It will be years before the competition even matches this. So impressed with Hyundai. More luxurious than a XT6 "luxury" SUV and feature that can't be done on the XT6 costing upward of $25k more
You are quoting Canadian prices…here in the USA base model is $33,000….
Didn’t know about the highway wind noise, thank you 👍
