Thanks for your reviews. We loved your review on the Atlas (which is what we got instead of the Palisade). I like VWs, but this seems like a great vehicle too. But I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your reviews. Keep up the good work!
I drive the Palisades corporate cousin, the Telluride. When the blizzards hit last winter, my Telluride performed with excellence, even with the stock tires. My friends call my Telluride a luxury limo with suv capabilities. You could say the same for the Palisade. Both are excellent choices for a luxury suv.
Very disappointed. The car shut down??
Most people would freak out. Imagine during a hard snow storm. I hope the engineers get back with you
When are we getting to see the Santa Fe with its new wet 8 speed DCT?
It’s Hyundai. What you expect? You buy this only when you are poor
So Palisade is just a city slicker, it ain't the real deal for the country…It ain't the Range Rover, but I guess it is good enough for less than 1/2 the price. Great test! Thanks for sharing the vid.
I just bought the Limited AWD 2021 Palisade a week ago and am completely in love with the car. It has everything my family and I need and then some! I'd highly recommend this car to anyone interested for any reason.
I think he has no experience driving in snow road like this, when the wheels spin, you shouldn’t just go forward you have to backward and forward
Just came across your channel this week (April 28) and can appreciate the thoroughness you put into your videos when reviewing vehicles like this Hyundai. I'm not in the market for a Hyundai but I'm in the market for a 4Runner and your other videos on the 4Runner are exactly what I need to make my decision on what trim of 4Runner I want. Thanks for all your efforts.
Question: Why don't you rock the steering wheel side to side when trying to get unstuck? I've seen that as an old off-roader's trick to try to make the tires bite in mud or snow.
Good job
Never had mine shut down in much heavier snow, in a similar situation. I love the Palaisde but if you want the best AWD system for Snow, look no further than Subaru or Audi. I might go back to a Subaru Ascent depending on how they redo the inside. The interior is exceptional, but if your looking for a true offroad vehicle I would look at something else.
I figure 99.999999% of people never go off road. And nobody buys it for 0-60. Its a daily driver for most people. I live in Canada and have snow tires so why use all seasons that are really not all season but marketing? But I like seeing different perspectives. I have subscribed.
From jump your expressions and tone when speaking about the vehicle have a negative vibe. Without watching the rest of the video (stopped at 1:57) you sound like you work for a rival car maker and are throwing shade. Just my first impressions of you. Going to continue watching to see if your tone, face expressions, etc. change from negative sounding to neutral, or positive as the video continues. Sorry, can’t do it, you have to much of a negative tone. I will have to watch another video review.
I'd Love to see your Snow test in this video compare a to 2022 Acura MDX SHAWDY Advance against the Pallisade — in the same place. That shut down was concerning to me, even though I don't go Off Road, But will have to handle snowy roads.
Did you get a answer from Hyundai about the Shut Down?
It's good thing Palisades is smarter than the driver. Pasalides knows its limitations to shut down the engine in order to avoid creeping avoid car toward side of the slope or to the gutter should the clueless driver continues press the gas pedal.
Full screen Apple CarPlay has to be set to full screen instead of split screen I think it’s under phone projection in the Palisades settings.
FYI, turning off split screen in the menus for the connected phone will enable full screen CarPlay again. It's just set by default on the 2021 to allow split screen with the head unit using the right 1/3rd of the display.
Please do the 2021 Disco
Hey, i was just wondering if you could review the new 2021 nissan rogue.
This thing needs the same powertrain as the GV80 3.5TT
Perhaps it is better that the Palisade shuts down than ruin the transmission. A minutes long break might be better than a trashed transmission.
Your review was excellent. I am also pausing based on the Snow Test. Never saw a car shutdown like that. I have a 2019 Acura MDX with Advance Package. The new 2022 Acura MDX with Advance Package is Winking at me, particularly with all the betterments and enhancements. It seems that SHAWDY is better than HTRAC IMHO based on this test drive. I'm in no rush, as my lease e ds in June 2022, however, if Acura co es out with Trade Up program, i would be tempted , perhaps later this year. And there is a sizeable price difference between the Palisade Calligraphy vs. Acura MDX Advance. We'll see. Thx again for your videos, one of the best on line reviews.
